Born
in 1952, I come from a long line of artists and can trace my ancestry
back to Richard Wilson, the well-known 18th century English “romantic”
painter. I studied at the City of London Polytechnic and the Wimbledon
School of Art before embarking on a career as freelance artist and illustrator.
In addition to book-jacket illustration, I have produced work for television, films and museums, and have painted murals for commercial companies, and more recently, as a Lecturer in Art and Design. My first love, however, has always been landscape painting. Capturing the effects of lighting and atmosphere, enables me to turn simple objects into the magical, always with the intention to convey the very essence of the subject, rather than just merely state the obvious. Work has been exhibited in various galleries in London and the South East. |
